The Cohasset Historical Society is hosting a House Tour on September 12th, exploring the theme of “The New Old House.”
Six houses on the tour range in age and architectural style from a 1729 Saltbox to a 1903 Victorian. The four in between include a 1802 Colonial, a 1821 Federal, an 1880 Colonial Revival, and a 1898 Shingle Style. In each of the homes, restored features showcase history, while updates blend old architecture with modern comforts and design. All the houses address the challenges of preserving the past while creatively adapting it to modern tastes and uses.
